Edmonton, Alberta – Sep 27, 2019 – Fireball Equipment Ltd. is pleased to announce Liam Murphy as President. Liam is succeeding Joe Murphy, who will be stepping away from the daily operations and focusing on Special Projects, Technical Support, and Training.
Liam’s deep understanding of Fireball’s people, products, and customers will help him excel in the new role as President. He has been with Fireball full-time for 8 years, and has worked in roles ranging from Installations Technician, Supply Chain, Technical Sales, and Sales Manager. Entering this position, a strong focus of his will be on the Customer Experience and the Culture. “Fireball has always had a reputation of delivering our high-quality products, and that is always going to be true. Where we need to focus our energy is putting people first; both our customers and our employees. Building amazing customer experiences and employee experiences is what will define us as a company”, said Liam Murphy.
Liam is a graduate of the University of Alberta and holds a Bilingual Bachelor of Commerce through the Alberta School of Business and Campus Saint-Jean.

Founded in 1993, Fireball Equipment Ltd. is a full-scope Petroleum Contractor specializing in the design, engineering, execution and support of Bulk Lubrication & Fuel systems. The Head Office in Edmonton, AB consists of 27,000 square feet of office and shop, including a manufacturing facility. Local sales and support is also located in Fort McMurray, Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina, and Winnipeg. Fireball’s scope of expertise in building Fuel & Lube Systems (including DEF, Used Oil, Coolant, Windshield Washer Fluid), has industry leading depth of design and support across three major markets; Commercial, Mining and Process.
Michel Handfieldremains in the role of General Manager and will be complementing Liam with his oversight of Fireball’s operations. Michel has been with Fireball for over 3 years, and brings his knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to help Fireball maximize focus on customer value added activities. Michel is a Mechanical Engineering Technologist by trade, and has extensive experience in Operations Management.
Paul Kobewkahas been promoted to Department Manager of Customer Service. He has been with Fireball since 2013 in the roles of Territory Manager for the Commercial Market, and Mining Account Manager for the Mining Market. Paul has a demonstrated history of customer service, and product knowledge which will set him up for success to take care of Fireball’s customers. Paul holds a Bachelor of Commerce through Grant MacEwan University and is midway through his MBA.
Justin Beldinghas been promoted to Department Manager of Project Management. He has been with Fireball since 2017, as a Project Manager in the Mining Market. Justin holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering through the University of Alberta, and is a certified Project Management Professional through the Project Management Institute. His training and hands-on experience will allow Justin to raise the bar on project execution as a company, and better serve our customers.
